Swim with Mike Scholarship Recipient could Walk On

Incoming freshman Jake Olson looks to overcome blindness and join the Trojans this fall.

This year's recipient of the annual Swim with Mike scholarship, recognizing disabled athletes that overcome the odds, may have a chance to walk onto the USC football team, according to LA Times writer Gary Klein. Jake Olson is an incoming USC freshman that suffers from a rare form of eye cancer that has completely blinded him. Olson has been following the Trojans since the Pete Carroll days and hopes to continue his long snapping career in the fall.
