Su'a Cravens: "We Just Gotta Be Physical"
The USC Trojans came out on top yet again in a 59-9 rout against the Idaho Vandals Saturday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Trojan defense displayed impressive depth, rotating in 5 freshman throughout the game, but were led by their defensive veterans including Senior Anthony Sarao and Junior Captain Su'a Cravens. The Junior linebacker had 2 tackles overall including his first sack of the year against quaterback Jake Luton.
Cravens dicussed how the freshman have impacted defensive play thus far, noting that their is still room for improvement from the linebacker core. In looking forward to Pac-12 play next week, the USC captain said Stanford will be the first real test for the freshman and that practice this week will prove very important for preapring many of the new defensive players. USC (2-0) will be back at the Coliseum next Saturday when they take on the Stanford Cardinal.
