City Hall Celebrates Disability Mentoring Day

Local disabled students received career mentoring and recognition from the City Council.

Los Angeles City Hall opened its doors earlier this morning to celebrate Disability Mentoring Day. The LA City Council acknowledged the occasion by presenting the event's regional coordinator Adriana Miranda with a framed document commemorating the day.

Hundreds of students and job seekers with disabilities in the Los Angeles area were matched with a mentor in a job industry they were interested in and were able to shadow their mentor for the day.  Miranda was excited about the turnout and in the past has seen many of these mentors form life-long relationships with their mentees.  She has also seen many of these mentors find jobs for their mentees before the day ended.
