Sports SCene: Thursday Night Football; Mandy Freeman In-Studio

The Sports SCene team breaks down the Trojans weekday matchup with the Huskies and USC women's soccer's Freeman shares some previous job experiences.

It’s Thursday Night Football week at USC, as the Trojans take on the Washington Huskies and SportSCene has everything you need to know. From Coach Steve Sarkisian’s reunion with his former team to some of the keys in the game, hosts Connor McGlynn and Jackson Safon get you ready for Thursday’s game.
Which team has the edge ahead of the matchup? Jackson is joined by Paolo Uggetti to assess each team’s capabilities on offense, defense and special teams. Plus, a prediction!
Thursday night games are a fun novelty, but how do students who have classes deal with them? Hailey Tucker asks Trojan students and fans how they deal with having to decide between class and the game.
Football isn’t the only sport making strides. USC’s women’s soccer squad has begun Pac-12 play with two wins and a tough loss. Connor speaks to star defender Mandy Freeman about the team’s impressive start and their outlook headed into tougher in-conference games. They also discuss Mandy’s face painting skills.
We then light the torch once again with new correspondent Ben Albert, who checks on how the women’s volleyball team and the men’s water polo team are faring in their respective seasons thus far.
For our fun feature of the week, Beverly Pham takes a look at what a day in the life of a football manager is like. Early mornings, cleaning helmets and lots of dedication. We take you behind the scenes of some of the hardest workers on the field.
And finally, Justin Wilcox and Pau Gasol? Adore’ Jackson and ASAP Rocky? That’s right, here are some of your best USC sports doppelgängers.
Tune in every Tuesday night for another episode of Sports SCene!
