Student Athletes Volunteer At 2015 USC Rose Cup
The USC tennis team raised money for breast cancer research and awareness at the fourth annual Rose Cup last Sunday.
The Rose Cup event is held in honor of former tennis player Kaitlyn Christian's mother, Rose, who overcame breast cancer. USC tennis senior Giuliana Olmos came up with the plan a few years ago, wanting to hold an event for USC student-athletes to raise support for breast cancer awareness and research. The past three Rose cups were a success.
Trojans paired up for a 16 team doubles tournament, or just took a whack at some casual drills and games with the women's tennis team.
This year the team raised $5,000 and had more than 100 student-athletes from a dozen sports. All donations were contributed to the Norris Cancer Center at USC.
