USC Students Concerned About Safety After Reports Of Off-Campus Break-Ins

Four car break-ins last week have USC students concerned about their safety off-campus.

USC students are concerned about their cars and safety on the row.

According to the USC Department of Public Safety (DPS), there were four break-ins on the row last week.

USC student Christopher Coppock’s car was broke-in last weekend, and many valuables in his car were stolen, including his car radio. Coppock was surprised to find his trunk propped open Sunday morning because he assumed his car, parked in front of his house on Menlo and 28th Street, would be safe.

Although glad that he and his friends are safe, Coppock found it unpleasant that his radio was stolen. He said it is difficult to find the thief because surveillance cameras were not near where the incident happened; however, he said there was one just down the street. He hopes DPS will install additional surveillance cameras to catch thieves before they can get away with the crime.
