USC vs. Oregon Postgame Press Conference
The USC Trojans were unable to stop quarterback Vernon Adams and the dynamic Oregon Ducks offense, losing in Eugene, Oregon, 48-28. Even after focusing on Adams and running back Royce Freeman in practice, they could not slow down the hot Oregon offense.
Adams torched the Trojans, completing 20 of 25 passes for 407 passing yards and six touchdowns. Royce Freeman did his part to keep Oregon’s top running offense on track, gaining 147 yards on the ground.
Trojan quarterback Cody Kessler was able to throw for 238 yards and two touchdowns, but was under duress the whole day. Kessler was sacked five times, and fumbled the ball on a crucial drive in the fourth quarter.
USC running back Justin Davis performed well for the team, gaining 141 rushing yards to lead the Trojans. His production was unable to overcome the penalties that haunted USC.
