What A Latino Community Christmas Is Really Like

Stars and supporters of the Latina Christmas Special explain what a Latino community Christmas means to them

The typical image of Christmas is a white family arranged around a lit Christmas tree and crackling fire while snow falls outside.

But for many American families, that image is a foreign one. The Latina Christmas Special is breaking up that image and showing a different side of the Christmas holiday.

The Buzz caught up with some stars at the Latina Christmas Special and asked them what Christmas in the Latino community means to them.

The special features three Latina women, Diana Yanez, a Cuban American; Sandra Valls, a Mexican American; and Maria Russell, a half-Lithuanian half-Mexican American. They each take turns telling their crazy holiday experiences..

Yanez developed the idea for the show three years ago when she got the idea to put her friends on a stage and have them talk like they do when they’re just hanging out.
