Men's Volleyball to Face No. 2 UC Irvine

The USC men's volleyball team is ranked first in the nation, just in time for their season finale match between the second ranked Anteaters.

The Trojans will face UC Irvine on Saturday as the last regular season match, and hope to extend their current thirteen game winning streak. The team has excelled in yet another championship-caliber season and are looking to ride the success of their explosive offense into the NCAA Championships to be held at the Galen Center the first weekend of May.

USC is led by senior Tony Ciarelli who had 12 kills in their most recent win over No. 5 Stanford. He also has contributed with a team high 284 kills on the season. Sophomore Tanner Jansen gave the Trojans the edge over the Cardinal with 17 kills on Saturday. Expect great defense from freshman Robert Feathers who leads the team with 113 blocks on the year.

The men's volleyball team faces tough competition in the second ranked Anteaters. UC Irvine is undefeated on the road this year. Senior Carson Clark leads the nation with a .56 ace average and the team leads the nation in aces, averaging 1.82 per game. The men's team will also face No. 11 UC San Diego on Thursday.

In an interview with ATVN freshman Robert Feathers talked about preparations for playing UC Irvine, "We faced them before and we lost which gives us even more of a chip on our shoulders. We really want to have them come into the Galen Center and beat them."

The Trojans take to the court Thursday night at 7pm and finish the regular season against UC Irvine on Saturday at 7pm, both games will be at the Galen Center.

Be there early. This team is ready....key game. winner will almost surely advance to final 4......even if do not win reg. season mpsf.
The Frosh sensations Feathers & Micah are awesome. The MB play of Shandrick &^ Feathers block so well. Tony & Tanner hit all night. Mo & Madison & Carlson compete with intensity. The non starters make the first team play hard everyday at practice,....FIGHT ON & Eat the 'Eaters.
