Kim Leoffler is currently in her third year at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism majoring in Broadcast and Digital Journalism and minoring in Communication in the Entertainment Industry and Performing Arts Studies.
Over her past four semesters at ATVN, Kim has worked a variety of positions including news anchor, multimedia journalist, web supervisor, assignment desk editor, graphics artist and floor manager.
Some of Kim's favorite stories she has covered include live tweeting reporting at Jackie Lacey's eletion watch party in November 2012 and the LA Times Festival of Books in April 2012.
Kim recently spent her summer working with NY1 News in New York City where she assisted news assistants and reporters on stories and wrote and edited stories for air. Some of her favorite stories she worked on included a Q and A with Police Commissioner Ray Kelley along with a swearing in of a new police academy class, the Ronnell Wilson Case, and assisting on an interview with the stars of the broadway show "First Date".
In the summer of 2012, Kim worked as a news intern at KABC Radio in Los Angeles. She worked with reporters to conduct interviews, edit audio, and write news stories for the anchors to read during their live broadcasts at the top and bottom of the hour.
Kim is from Peachtree City, Georgia. Her passion for journalism started when she began working at her high school's morning announcements and video production class.
In the future, Kim hopes to continue growing as a journalist and and eventually work for a professional morning news program.
