Perfect Show? I think so!
Thursday was another day I thought went very smoothly from the newsroom to the studio and everywhere in between. It was a relatively slow news day, so we were able to get a lot of original content in our show like Derek’s package on how to avoid picking up germs and getting sick. Cynthia’s package explored the swine flu vaccine from a new angle I didn’t see any of the local stations covering. There was a vaccine clinic offering free vaccines on skid row Thursday so we took the angle of the importance of helping the poor and homeless as well as everyone else.
Overall, the show looked fabulous once we got in studio and on the air. I’d venture to say it was our first perfect show, even though we were crunched for time at the end, it didn’t look bad. We have a great anchor team as they’re competent enough to get the information out and get us off the air on time. That is invaluable when we have so much content to squeeze in.
It was nice to see how good things can look when there isn’t breaking news filling half of the A block. It was a nice reinforcement that we are a good producing team with a great staff behind us. Only two shows left to go!
