The End Of An Era

TAGS:

I began this semester with few expectations about this class. I ended it with new friends and great respect and admiration for television news production.

Here are a few things to keep in mind as you begin the journey that is JOUR 403:

1. Be Prepared. It makes a huge difference if you have done your research, and it shows. Participate as much as you can in the morning meetings, listen to everyone's ideas and encourage others to participate.

2. You will be confused at times. Especially at the beginning of the semester, and sometimes the middle and end, you will be seriously confused. Don't be scared to ask questions. The entire semester is a learning experience, right until the last show. You will learn something about yourself and from others every week.

3. You will also be hungry most of the time. Bring snacks, it'll make your life easier and minimize your chances of getting hangry and freaking out at your MJs. Team Monday tried to come up with a system were the producers would rotate every week to get everyone food, but that would often get forgotten with the chaos and excitment of each show.

4. Be Patient. This is a stressful job, but it is also an exciting job. Your patience will be tested at so many points within the day that it will start to feel normal. Do your best to remember that some people are entirely new at this and just need a little bit of guidance.

5. Have Fun!! Honestly, this is not something that you will have to work hard at, it will come naturally.

And the last thing I have to say is.... TEAM MONDAY FOREVER!
