Producers

It's time to collaborate!

TAGS:
People gather news from a variety of different media outlets that range from television, radio, the web, and social media.  The Annenberg School has recently developed the Annenberg Media Mashup program, where producers from ATVN, ARN, and Neon Tommy come together to work on stories.  Reporters from ATVN, ARN, and Neon Tommy can then report on the same story, but choose different angles and styles to write the story.  ATVN is more video focused, so our role as producers has been to post videos to our website and keep the text of the story concise.  This way, Neon Tommy can write a longer, more in depth story on their own website.
While Monday's ATVN crew didn't meet with Annenberg's other media outlets this week, ATVN and Neon Tommy both covered the boxed salad and sandwiches recall story.  There was E. Coli contamination discovered in these boxed foods, which had been recalled from Trader Joe's, Super Fresh Goods, and Delish supermarkets.  ATVN was able to interview customers about the recall, and then post those interviews on ATVN's website.  While Neon Tommy did not post any videos of the recall, they wrote a longer and more detailed article on their website.
Overall, it is important that media outlets work together to produce stories.  By working together, producers and reporters from Annenberg's different media outlets are able to gather and deliver more information to USC students and faculty.
