My Last Day as Lead Producer

TAGS:

My last day as lead producer went off without a hitch because everyone worked hard, was prepared for everything, and was well informed on what they were supposed to do.  Whenever I was busy talking over details, one of my teammates helped out and took control of the W/S/E's and led them in the right direction.  Our show featured a live shot from the Galen Center as a fun element to highlight Homecoming.  We sent Maddie Littrell to the shot and she was fantastic on camera and really made the live element of our show work perfectly.  The transitions were smooth and we even pulled off a live tease too!  All of the new techniques that we have been able to master as producers makes me feel much more prepared for the real world.  Even though I want to do sports in the future, I feel much more comfortable in the newsroom after my experiences as lead producer.  Sometimes it sometimes can feel overwhelming with so many people to brief and stay on top of during the day.  But the satisfaction of watching a show that was thought up and created partly by you work out that is amazing!   Suddenly news isn't so terrifying.  Real world, I'm not so scared anymore......
