Research by Nielsen also suggests that high participation of active social networker carry over into their offline lives.  High activity users are highlighted as more likely to speak their minds, workout and go on dates due to their tendency to spread information and build online influence.

The social media phenomenon seems to have caught worldwide, dominating at least 60 percent of active Internet users across the globe.
