"Office Creeper" Arrested in Downtown Thefts [UPDATE]

Police have arrested a man disguised as a security guard accused in several Downtown office burglaries.

[Updated | Oct. 6, 12:45 p.m. PDT: LAPD Rampart Area officers arrested suspect Otis Anthony Deaver without incident at a Bank of America on 6th Street and Central in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday and was charged with multiple burglaries.]

Otis Anthony Deaver was  tied to a spree of office burglaries over the last two months. Video surveillance showed that his disguise to wander into office buildings unchecked was a security guard jacket.

He is described as a thin, 6-feet-tall Black male who walks with a distinct limp. He was last seen with a shaved head and face on October 3 in a bank.

The police said Deaver has family in Whittier, but is believed to be staying in downtown.

Anyone with additional information on this crime is urged to call Detective Pat Roman, Central Burglary Unit, at (213) 972-1230.
