Parts of 405 Freeway to be Closed
The southbound lanes on the 405 Freeway will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday nights and the northbound lanes will be closed Thursday night and Friday night from the 101 Freeway to Getty Center Drive, transit officials said.
Offramps will start closing as early as 7 p.m. and lanes will begin to close around 10 p.m. The freeway is expected to be fully closed by midnight and re-open at 5 a.m. the next morning. The freeway will close on the same schedule on all four nights.
Sepulveda Boulevard will remain open during the nights of the closures and can be used as an alternate route.
According to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the closures will allow construction crews to install a walkway on the Skirball Bridge, build a column on the Mulholland Bridge and remove overhead freeway signs and structures to accommodate the freeway widening project through the Sepulveda Pass.
