Santa Clarita Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured

Four suspects are in custody after a strip mall shooting.

A Good Samaritan is dead and another man is wounded after a shooting at a strip mall in Santa Clarita on Monday, authorities said.  Four suspects were taken into custody.

The unidentified deceased victim was shot in the torso after attempting to prevent a robbery.  He died at a hospital.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the surviving victim arranged to meet the suspects to sell a Nintendo DS game system.  The suspects attempted to rob the victim when the Good Samaritan intervened with a baseball bat and was shot.

The other victim tried to run away and was shot in the thigh by the same suspect.

The suspects were arrested.  They are believed to be male juveniles, some of them described as being as young as 13-16 years old.
