Stars of 'Twilight' Immortalized

'Twilight' stars have their hands and feet imprinted on the sidewalk outside of the Grauman's Chinese Theater.

Three young Hollywood stars carried on an age-old tradition Thursday morning.

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner imprinted their hands and feet on the sidewalk outside of Grauman's Chinese Theater.

"I've been so enamored with Hollywood, this business, everything. I think this is the coolest thing I've ever done in my life," Stewart said.

The honor has only been bestowed upon 250 of Hollywood's most famous stars, including Marilyn Monroe and Tom Hanks.

Fans of the "Twilight Saga" film series lined up early Thursday morning in front of the theater to see their favorite stars become a part of Hollywood history.

"First of all, I just wanted to thank everyone for coming. Your support is unreal. We wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for you so thank you," Lautner said.

Pattinson also thanked the fans for their success.

"It's kind of ridiculous and amazing at the same time and it's all down to you guys to drive this franchise forward. So thank you so much."

Some fans felt that the Twilight stars only recieved the honor because they're famous.

"I mean you have to have talent to get the part but I don't know if they are the best actors in the world," Patrick Montenegro, a student at George Mason University, said.

But others felt that their talent earned them the opportunity.

"I really think they are all very talented and this film will probably push them to the level they want to get to," retired telephone operator Hazel Lynch said.

The honor comes 15 days before the release of the fourth installment in the film series, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1." The previous three films have grossed over $1.8 billion in box offices worldwide.
