Chatsworth School Janitor Arrested on Suspicion of Lewd Acts
A 37-year-old janitor at a Chatsworth elementary school was taken into custody Monday by LAPD officials on suspicion of commiting lewd acts on a child.
Paul Adame, an employee of Germain Elementary School on the 20000 block of Germain St., was released on a $100,000 bail and is set to appear in a San Fernando courtroom on Feb. 27, according to jail booking records.
The investigation began when a student's mother alleged that Adame had "inappropriate contact [with] her child," according to LAPD.
"Due to the nature of this ongoing investigation and the need to protect the identity of the victim, no information is being released regarding the criminal behavior, or the name, age or gender of the child,'' an LAPD statement says.
The Los Angeles School Police Department is working on the case with LAPD's Devonshire Station's sexual assault unit.
Detectives are urging parents of students at Germain Elementary "to speak with their children regarding Adame to determine if they were subject to any inappropriate behavior,'' the LAPD's statement further explains.
Anyone with information on the case should call Devonshire detectives at (818) 832-0609 or (877) LAPD-24-7.
