Man's Best Friend Now Man's Dinner Date

The "Dine with Your Dog" policy is barking up LA's restaurant community.

The doggy bag days are over for Los Angeles' furry friends. This Monday, the LA County Department of Public Health gave restaurants the choice to allow pet dogs at outdoor dining areas.

Lazy Dog Cafe in Torrance started new "Dining with Your Dog" policy in the interest of both the restaurant and its customers--no longer just the two-legged kind.

This will provide residents with more ways to pamper their pooches and enjoy the outdoors, but restaurants are excited too.

Now, local restaurants have a chance to expand their clientele by attracting those who want to bring along man's best friend for dinner.

Health officials say this is only a change to the restaurant inspection policy and not a change in the law.

"Dine with Your Dog" will simply give restaurants the opportunity to better serve both two-legged and four-legged customers.

However, for the dogs, the service includes floor seating only.
