The former Speaker voiced his proposed strategy for dealing with the instability of the North Korean regime, saying, "You have in North Korea this strange combination of a medieval kingdom with a theocracy with a world view that it preaches so relentlessly that people who do escape are shocked when they get to the outer world."

He said that the U.S.'s approach to North Korea should be cautious so as to avoid provoking the regime's military retaliation.

Criticizing President Obama for weakening the military and not handling the budget, Gingrich wants to decrease the leverage that China holds on the U.S.

"Well I hope to leave with affection, fond memories, and money. All those things coming together," Gingrich concluded when asked what he hoped to accomplish in Los Angeles.

After Gingrich's speech, one Korean-American Republican voter commented, "I'm still watching all the debates and following all the issues and their opinions and proposals. What I heard today was very positive. So I'll consider that as well. But I'll probably wait until the primary is over until I make up my mind."

Gingrich managed to raise $2 million dollars while in California.
