Rallies were held statewide Thursday at multiple California State University campuses and at UC Santa Cruz to protest rising tuition, class cuts, and other policies.

Students and protestors held a variety of events to demonstrate their cause:

  • An “Occupy Education” walk-out was held at the Cal State Los Angeles bookstore
  • A rally and march was held protesting the increase of tuition at Cal State Dominguez Hills
  • A rally against the privatization of Cal State Long Beach took place
  • An “Occupy Education: Reclaim Your Education” rally and workshops occurred at Cal State Northridge
  • Students at Cal State Fullerton planned an art fair to address free speech issues
  • UC Santa Cruz protesters threatened to block traffic at campus entrances.

On Monday, students and faculty plan to go to California’s state Capitol to participate in a day-long "Occupy Education" rally.
