Massive Art Exhibit Unveiled at Doheny Library

The Mosely Snowflake Fractal was built by a team of students, staff, and faculty over several months.

An art exhibition made of 49,000 folded business cards was unveiled at Doheny Library Thursday.

Built by hundreds of USC students, faculty, and staff, the giant origami known as the "Mosely Snowflake Fractal" measures six feet cubed and weighs more than 100 pounds. It is named in honor of famed engineer and origami artist, Jeannine Mosely, who created the design.

The USC Libraries unveiled the finished exhibit at a reception in Doheny Library's first-floor entrance pavilion. The display was accompanied by information about fractals, origami and the project's months-long building process.
