'Hurricane Sandy Sale' Stirs Up Twitterverse

Some Twitter users expressed anger over American Apparel's insensitive "Hurricane Sandy Sale" -- while other users made light of the storm themselves.

American Apparel is feeling the heat after their recent "Hurricane Sandy Sale" caused a backlash on twitter.

The twitterverse exploded with criticism in response to the company's marketing campaign, which encourages consumers to purchase clothing for 20% off "just in case you're bored during the storm."

ATVN reached out to American Apparel for comment.

Other brands such as Urban Outfitters, Gap and Steven Alan offered free shipping deals but didn't receive quite the backlash American Apparel experienced. Check out some of the tweets below.
