Road Closures For Endeavour's Trip Through LA
The transporting of the Space Shuttle Endeavour from a hangar at Los Angeles International Airport to Exposition Park will result in multiple road closures beginning Thursday night.
The Los Angeles Department of Transportation has released the road closure schedule, and the Department predicts that the closures will result in significantly more traffic and delays for drivers in Los Angeles.
One lane in each direction of Lincoln Boulevard between Supulveda Boulevard and Manchester Parkway will be closed on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Starting at 8:30 p.m., the same section of Lincoln Boulevard will be closed until 5 a.m. on Friday. On Saturday, closures on Lincoln Boulevard will include one lane in either direction from 4 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The Northside Parkway from Westchester Parkway to Lincoln Boulevard, the Westchester Parkway from Loyola Boulevard to La Tijera Boulevard, and La Tijera Boulevard from Westchester Parkway to Sepulveda Boulevard will be closed from 10 p.m. on Thursday to 6 a.m. on Friday.
The eastbound section of Sepulveda Boulevard from Westchester Parkway to 87th Street will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. on Friday.
La Tijera Boulevard from Sepulveda Boulevard to Manchester Avenue will be closed from 4 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.
Manchester Avenue from Sepulveda Boulevard to Aviation Boulevard will be closed from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.
Crenshaw Boulevard from 79th Street to Vernon Avenue will be closed on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Crenshaw Boulevard from Vernon Avenue to 39th Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard from Marltin Avenue to 4th Avenue will be closed from 8 p.m. on Friday to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Martin Luther King Boulevard from 4th Avenue to Figueroa Street and Bill Robertson Lane from Martin Luther King Boulevard to Exposition Park will be closed from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
