The annual auto show marks the debut of over 40 vehicles and points to a more sustainable future in the automotive industry.

More than 60 new cars and dozens of concept cars are taking center stage this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Among the trends in the auto industry are sustainability and the development of cars catering to college students.

New models on display at the Los Angeles Convention Center include electric, hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles, while the concept cars include BMW's i3 Spyder Plug-in Hubrid and the Lexus LF-CC.

On Thursday, the LA Auto Show will unveil the Green Car of the Year. The show concludes Friday.
