Venice Rolls Out Parking App
Fed up with finding a parking spot in Venice?
L.A. city councilmember Bill Rosendahl introduced Thursday a mobile application to help residents and beach-goers alike find parking in Venice, one of the city's most congested areas.
Parker, as the application is called, currently offers parking information for Washington Boulevard, Winderward Avenue and Venice Boulevard.
The app finds open parking spots, lists parking fees and posts parking regulations for a specific spot. The app is touted as a way to save time, gas and money.
Officials are optimistic that Parker will help alleviate traffic - benfiting residents of the beach community as well as tourists visiting Venice Beach.
Officials said Parker is currently a prototype and, once the kinks are worked out, the scope of the app will expand to include Brentwood and West Rochester.
