Construction Update on New Annenberg Building
Faculty and administrators of the Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism recently toured the construction site of the new Wallis Annenberg Hall.
Members of the building committee, including Geneva Overholser, director of the School of Journalism, checked in on the progress of the state-of-the-art facility.
The five-story building will include a 20,000 square-foot newsroom with a 360-degree assignment desk to supervise the operations of all student news organizations.
The construction of the new building began in November 2012, but the planning and design process began more than two years prior.
Wallis Annenberg Hall is slated to be completed in time for the Fall 2014 semester.
The building is named after Wallis Annenberg, the longest-serving member of USC's Board of Trustees. The Annenberg Foundation, lead by Ms. Annenberg, donated $50 million to support the new facility for journalism education.
