Backstreet Boys Get Larger Than Life Honor

The Backstreet Boys were honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Backstreet Boys received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday.

The boy band joined the Category of Recording and became the 2,495th star on the Walk of Fame.

Fans began arriving in Hollywood as early as 7:00 a.m. to watch the induction live. Those who could not make it watched a live stream on the official Walk of Fame's website.

Guest speakers at the induction ceremony included music producer Max Martin and Walk of Fame speech contest winner Lori.

All five members attended the ceremony. The now all-grown-up heartthrobs rose to fame with their first single: "We've Got it Goin' On."

The honor comes at a great time for the band, as they celebrate their twenty-year anniversary. The group is also prepping for a new album release, set to launch later this year.

All five members showed great enthusiasm as they were honored. Group member Nick Carter tweeted: "Huge day. Receiving a star on Hollywood blvd. WOW! Thank you to all our fans."

Brian Litrell of the group summed up his expressions with four words on twitter: "In Stone!!!! Thank GOD".

AJ McClean took time to thank his fellow band members in his tweet about the day where he said: "Also thanks to Brian Kevin Howie and nick! Love u all".

In addition to Monday's event, the band is embarking on an international tour to continue to promote their anniversary and new music.
