USC Students Practice Safety in Earthquake Drill

Students react to the Great California Shakeout drill.

Schools and universities across the state, including USC, participated in the Great California ShakeOut Thursday morning.

The university sent out an e-mail encouraging all students and staff at USC locations to "drop, cover, and hold-on at exactly 10:17 a.m. for 60 seconds."

After the drill, participants were encouraged to review earthquake safety procedures for their office, home, or classroom.
