Catholic Elementary Students Contribute To Typhoon Relief

Elementary schools across the Archdiocese of Los Angeles offered prayers and funds to aid the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

Catholic elementary school children across the Archdiocese of Los Angeles paid tribute to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan to kick off a city-wide fundraiser across 200 schools.

The children are being asked to give at least $1 each in support for the super typhoon that have killed thousands of Filipinos. An anonymous donor who has contributed in the past to the archdiocese's fundraisers for emergency aid in Haiti and Japan has pledged to match each dollar raised up to $100,000.

The "Prayers for the Philippines'' involved children performing traditional Filipino dances, poetry and prayers to raise awareness.
