Funeral Held for Assemblyman Mike Gatto's Father

Hundreds attended a funeral service for Joseph Gatto Thursday at Our Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
Family members, friends and former students gathered to remember the life of the 78-year-old teacher and artist.
Gatto was found shot to death in his Silver Lake home on Nov. 13. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating his death as a homicide.
In lieu of flowers, Gatto's children requested donations be made to their father's three favorite charities:
- The Historic Italian Hall Foundation
- The Los Angeles Community Garden Council
- The Tuition Magician: Joe Gatto Arts Scholarship
