Mayor Eric Garcetti and city officials celebrated the Los Angeles Aqueduct centennial on Tuesday.

The ceremony included a reenactment of the first time water flowed into Los Angeles from the Owens Valley in 1913.

The Department of Water and Power hosted an open-house celebration with a live broadcast of the reenactment of the opening of the aqueduct.

Family members of William Mullholland, the aqueduct engineer, attended the event as well
