Seniors Encouraged to get Flu Shots

Senior Citizens at St. Barnabas Senior Center in the Westlake District of Los Angeles were encouraged to get their flu vaccines Tuesday.
A public campaign backed by the California Immunization Coalition and the Anthem Blue Cross Foundation urged seniors to stay healthy this season. Launched in both English and Spanish, it focused on adults age 65 and older.
The Chief Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Director said seniors with any existing infections are at risk of complications from the flu.
