Study Finds More Violence in PG-13 Movies than R-Rated Films

A new study released Monday by the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania found more gun violence in the top 2012 PG-13 movies than in R-rated films during the same year.

The study, titled "Gun Violence Trends in Movies," stated that gun violence in top PG-13 movies has more than tripled since 1985. The overall rate of violence has doubled since 1950 for the biggest box-office movies.

Author Dan Romer, Ph.D., found the results disturbing.
