Cirque du Soleil gave Third Street Promenade visitors a free show in Santa Monica Thursday afternoon.

Visitors near Broadway and Santa Monica Boulevard were given a sneak peek at Cirque du Soleil's "Totem" and clues for a chance to win free tickets to one of their shows.

Cirque du Soleil said it hosted the event to "say thanks to Santa Monicans for their support over the years," referencing its successful run at the Santa Monica Pier.

Celebrities from ABC's Modern Family and HBO's True Blood were also at the event.

"Totem" will be playing under the Big Top at the Santa Monica Pier until March 16.
