Historic Filipinotown unveiled renovations aimed at establishing a sense of unity and pride among its residents.

The renovations include adding marked entry ways, trees and solar trash compactors throughout the area.

Historic Filipinotown, which is bound by Temple Street to the north and Beverly Boulevard on the south, also had improvements made to its sidewalks and main gateway.

Neighborhoods like Koreatown and Little Tokyo are well established, and Historic Filipinotown is hoping to create its own unique community within Echo Park.

COMMENTS

I like to say that Historic Filipinotown is a stand alone community adjacent to Echo Park, Westlake, Silverlake and it shared by GEPENC and Rampart Village Neighborhood Councils. Historic Filipinotown has it's own Neighborhood Council , Chamber of Commerce and is home to many iconic businesses like Brooklyn Bagels , the Original Tommy's
many Medical facilities and non-profits that serve a larger part of diverse communities around HIFI
