Boston Marathon 2014

USC senior Reed Semcken ran the Boston Marathon on Monday as a guide for a blind runner.

More than 32,000 people came out to take part in the 2014 Boston Marathon on Monday. Many of the runners honored the victims of last year's Boston Marathon bombings by writing the names of the victims on their bodies and bibs.

The city was under heavy security with more than a hundred surveillance cameras and police officers on rooftops. Police were lined up along the route inspecting backpacks, helicopters circled above and bomb-sniffing dogs checked trash cans. The runners had to hold any personal items in clear plastic bags.
