Chris Brown Taken Into Federal Custody
Singer Chris Brown was taken into federal custody on Thursday and will be transported to Washington, D.C., for an assault trial.
A spokesman for the U.S. Marshals confirmed Brown was transferred to federal custody in Los Angeles. Brown was being held without bail on alleged probation violations at Men's Central Jail, part of the Los Angeles County jail system.
Brown's probation relates to his 2009 beating of on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna.
In Washington, D.C., Brown faces a charge from allegedly punching a man who was attempting to take the singer's photo.
