Inside the Media Center: Students Gear Up for Live Shows

It's only run-through week, but Annenberg Television News and Annenberg Radio News treated it as the real deal. Multimedia journalists and reporters teamed up on stories including the new film and tax credit bill signed by Governor Jerry Brown. 

ARN went into Studio B at 4:00 pm to practice producing its live show. Later, ATVN hit the Studio C control room and anchor desk to do a 15-minute newscast drill. Each outlet used new hardware and software in the Media Center. Students got hands-on experience with a robotics system allowing them to operate studio cameras from the control room. They also used an audio control panel to adjust multiple microphone levels.
