ITMC: Students Enter a New Media Space

The Media Center showcased ATVN Sign-Up Day to introduce students to the new space and register them for positions to generate video content including newscasts.

Annenberg students as well as volunteers from all majors streamed in for ATVN' Sign-Up Day in the new Media Center Wednesday. Sign up sheets lined the computer pods and assignment desk where students volunteered to help in all aspects of the Media Center including reporting, anchoring, studio crew and web producing.

The Media Center is home to all Annenberg student-run media outlets such as Annenberg Radio News, Neon Tommy and Intersections South LA., where many students volunteer to work for more than one outlet. In a merged environment created to showcase journalism, communication and public relations, students will be able to take part in all aspects of production.

Converged Media Center projects will blend everything from multimedia pieces organized by Neon Tommy to interviews with local community members guided by Intersections South LA to analysis of social media conversations conducted in real time by an on-site PR team, with intersection teams and hundreds of students all under the same roof.
