Interim Provost Appointed

Prof. Michael Quick will take on the position until the national search is completed.

Prof. Michael Quick will be the interim provost of USC until the national search for a new provost is completed, according President Max Nikias in an email sent to the student body on Friday.

Effective Dec. 1, Prof. Quick will replace Provost Elizabeth Garrett who is set to leave on sabbatical that day.

Prof. Quick will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Office of the Provost. Quick is currently executive vice provost, making him the second-ranking administrator in the Office of the Provost.

The search for a new provost comes after it was announced that Garrett would be leaving USC to assume the position of president at Cornell University.
