Race for the Pac-12 South
The Trojans are gearing up for a crucial Thursday night matchup versus the California Golden Bears. California, coming off a 1-11 campaign in 2013, is one win away from Bowl eligibility this season. Meanwhile, USC is tied with UCLA for 2nd place in the Pac 12 South Division. A win at the Coliseum Thursday would provide the Men of Troy with an opportunity to capture the Pac-12 South and play in the Pac-12 Conference Championship Game.
The Golden Bears under head coach Sonny Dykes feature an offense that is ranked in the top-10 nationally, averaging nearly 42 points per game. USC is favored to win comfortably, but the team insists that it will not look past an improved conference foe.
"We have to be ready. . . every week," sophomore safety Su'a Cravens said. "Nobody's a pushover in the Pac-12."
