USC Student Hit By Car On Adams Boulevard

An accident just off campus left the student in the hospital. ATVN's Kevin McAllister reports.

Just after 10 A.M. on Monday morning, a USC student biking across the intersection at Adams Boulevard and Severance Stree was struck by a vehicle. Both the Los Angeles Police Department and the Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of the accident and the injured female student was transported to the California Hospital Medical Center for treatment.

According to Deputy Chief of DPS David Carlisle, paramedics were on the scene within minutes. The LAPD still has not released information on the nature of the injuries sustained by the student, and presently her condition is unknown to ATVN.

The investigation, due to its nature, will be headed by the LAPD's South Traffic Division, which frequently looks into collisions between vehicles and pedestrians or cyclists.

Niether DPS nor the LAPD could not comment on who was at fault in the collision as the investigation is open and ongoing, although according to eyewitnesses, the victim was biking in an official crosswalk painted across Adams Boulevard.

Anyone familiar with the victim or with knowledge of her status is asked to contact ATVN or Kevin McAllister at .
