Shooting Near Campus Has USC Student Feeling 'Unsafe'

The LAPD is investigating a shooting that occurred between Magnolia Avenue and 27th Street.

A man was injured in an officer-involved shooting near the University Park campus today.

The man and two police officers were sent to local hospitals, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The LAFD said the shooting was reported at 4:42 pm in the area of Magnolia Avenue and 27th Street. LAPD says the officers were not shot, but were being treated for minor injuries.

The university stated in an email and on its Twitter account that it was not involved.

USC student Samantha Levra lives in the area and said it was the first time she "felt unsafe" at USC.
