Pasadena Prepares for Cross-Town Rivalry
While the Trojans and the Bruins prepare for a gridiron battle for the PAC 12 South title this Saturday, the Pasadena Police Department has released an advisory message with guidelines for football fans attending the cross-town rivalry game at the Rose Bowl.
The game is expected to draw out 90,000 fans, the largest fan attendance of the season at the Rose Bowl Stadium. Since kickoff is at Noon, the advisory message said to "anticipate heavy traffic" and strongly advises fans to "arrive at the stadium by 9 a.m. to avoid delays."
PPD also notes that carpooling is crucial in order to streamline traffic and parking.
Fans are encouraged to take advantage of free shuttle buses that will run from Old Pasadena to the Stadium's entrance. The buses will begin running to the Rose Bowl four hours before kick off and will run for 90 minutes after the game ends.
Alcohol consumption is not permitted in the parking lots once kick-off occurs. Anyone drinking in the parking lots after the game starts may be cited in order to create a fan-friendly environment that is safe for everyone in attendance.
The Rose Bowl Stadium will have heightened security presence on Saturday which will include assistance from federal, state and local agencies.
