Born and raised in the bustling city of Los Angeles, Cynthia Balderas @CVBalderas opted to stay close to home and study at the University of Southern California. An undergraduate junior, Cynthia is pursing a degree in Public Relations, Spanish and Communication and the Entertainment Industry. Cynthia just completed a summer long internship at Sony Pictures Entertainment at its Culver City lot for the Home Entertainment World Wide Publicity department and couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend her summer.

Cynthia is very involved on-campus. She’s a member of the Public Relation’s Student Society of America, a proud member of Ladies Striving for Unity, was an associate news editor and staff writer for Neon Tommy and has held various positions at ATVN  - Assignment Desk Editor, Multimedia Journalist and Web Supervisor. 

Cynthia was not sure if entertainment was her passion until she interned for the hilarious, dynamic duo, Hunter & Stan Freberg and for KABC-TV’s celebrity and entertainment website, OnTheRedCarpet.com. She was able to see what the entertainment world was really like and quickly fell in love with its complex nature and mysteriousness.

With a background in broadcast journalism, Cynthia hopes to use her skills in reporting to be an extraordinary publicist. She hopes to have a career in an entertainment studio, heading it’s publicity department.

Cynthia is currently the Public Relations Co-Director for USC’s Latina/o Student Assembly, an organization that thrives to encourage social, cultural, political and professional programming for USC Latino students through collaborative, original and thought provoking events.

This semester, Cynthia will work as a Wednesday Multimedia Journalist and a Thursday web journalist.
