Lori Aufdemorte (Brown)

Class of 2003, Bachelor's

My path to Dallas began deep in the heart of Texas. After discovering my calling to be a reporter at age 15, I journeyed to the University of Southern California where I earned my degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. There, I met my best friend, husband, and news ally Matt Brown.

After graduating from USC, I left the bright lights of L.A. for the scenery of the central California coast, where I earned my reporter wings at KCOY CBS.

Then Memphis, Tennessee called. That’s where I learned how to drive on ice, well sort of, while working at WMC-TV.

During my time in Memphis, I uncovered a story about a city judge who had charged taxpayers for a questionable number of trips, including a trip to the Caribbean and a stay at the San Francisco Ritz-Carlton.  Another report exposed a school administrator who was provided drivers to chauffeur him to and from work.  One story that stays with me was about a “living miracle,”  a girl who survived a lightning strike that doctors say stopped her heart for 20 minutes.

After realizing that me driving on ice isn’t a good idea for anyone, I came here to WFTV in Orlando Florida in October 2011.

My husband and I love being close to the beach and the “Happiest Place on Earth” once again, not to mention more things to do than we could possibly have time for.

We enjoy attending First Baptist Orlando, running, reading, and cheering for our USC Trojans and Orlando Magic.

I love getting to know our viewers, so send me and email and let me know if there is anything I can help you investigate.
