Miriam Garcia joined the WESH 2 News team in August as a reporter in Volusia County.

She was born in Midland, Texas, and spent the previous three years covering city and county politics and producing investigative reports at KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas.

Miriam graduated from the University of Southern California. She enjoys her job because it allows her to meet interesting people and tell a different story every day.

In her free time, she enjoys dining at local restaurants and reading. Her favorite author is Ernest Hemingway. Miriam also enjoys spending time at the beach and at home with her dog, Billy.
